KERS Frequently Asked Questions

KERS Frequently Asked Questions

KERS stands for Kentucky Extension Reporting System. It is a database used to store all the reporting information entered by County Extension Agents, Extension Specialists and Extension Associates in the state of Kentucky.

Go to this link (https://kers.ca.uky.edu/) and enter your UK Link Blue credentials.

When in KERS, click the Question Mark symbol in the right-hand corner of the screen. The screen will drop down and provide support specific to the page you are on currently. If there is not a question mark, email agpsd@uky.edu with your question.

  1. Log into KERS using your Link Blue credentials.
  2. Choose In-Service Trainings from the menu.
  3. Choose Training Catalog.
  4. Search for the In-Service you would like to attend.
  5. Choose Enroll for this training event.

NOTE: If it is past the date for enrolling, reach out to the Contact listed in the session. They will be able to let you know if there is still the option to attend and what you need to do to enroll.

  1. Log into KERS using your Link Blue credentials.
  2. Choose In-Service Trainings from the menu.
  3. Choose Training Catalog.
  4. Search for the In-Service you need to cancel the enrollment.
  5. Choose Cancel enrollment for this training event.

NOTE: If it is past the date for cancelling your enrollment, please let the contact listed in the In-service know, so they can plan for their session accordingly. You will then not be marked as attended in the final attendance.

If your transcript does not yet show a credit for an in-service you attended, please follow these steps:

  • Has it been at least two weeks since the in-service occurred? If not, please wait at least two weeks before reaching out to the appropriate person.
  • If it has been at least two weeks, reach out to the Contact listed in the in-service listing in KERS. This would most likely be the Specialist who led the session.

Note: It is up to the Specialist in charge of the session to submit attendance. If you only attended part of the training, you will not receive ANY credit.

In-service proposals can only be submitted by Session Managers. If you are a Sessions Manager, or an Extension Specialist or Associate, please read here for more details on Submitting an In-Service Proposal.

Concentration Areas are the overarching areas of Kentucky Extension’s work to improve the lives of Kentuckians. There are 13 Concentration Areas, correlated to the federal USDA-NIFA plan of work, which are applicable across all Extension program areas. Logic Models for each concentration area include a situation statement and evaluation plan with indicators that describe the measurable program outcomes of Extension programs on the lives of Kentuckians.

Kentucky Extension personnel can view current FY program indicators, as well as previous years', by logging in to KERS, navigating to the Program Indicators page, and selecting "State Totals". For previous years', choose the fiscal year options in the right hand corner of the screen.

The Extension Impacts page is the best way to view data entered into KERS for all previous fiscal years (https://kers.ca.uky.edu/core/Reports/).
